Marketing
Prior to the offer of any contract, we require a marketing plan for manuscripts we intend to publish. We expect contracted authors to be fully active in the promotion of their books.
Editing & Acceptance
Please closely edit your work before submitting to LL-
If your submission is not chosen, we will not provide any further feedback. Publishing is very subjective and at the end of the day, opinion, along with other market based influences, is what we base our decisions on. Our opinion may, and is very likely to, differ from that of another publisher.
Editing of submissions after acceptance is considered part of the acceptance, and
the editors reserve the right to edit content and length of any submission prior
to publication. However, it is not our intention to alter an individual’s writing
or style. Editing would only be done if the editor felt it was in the author’s and/or

In rare cases, where no final edits can be agreed upon and/or either party wishes
to withdraw/reject the submission, only the rights to the submission in its ORIGINAL
form are returned to the author. All edits done under contract by our editors are

Payment terms
For novels/single
author collections our standard royalty terms are:
Print: 22.5% of the cover price for books sold directly from our own sources. 7.5% of the cover price for books sold from sources requiring distributor discounts.
Digital (ebook): 55% of the retail download price for sales through our own sources. An equal share of the net income after discount for sales from sources that require distributor discounts.

These are our general guidelines. Please follow these guidelines if submitting to
LL-
· Submissions not following these guidelines will not be considered.
· All contributors must be at least 18 years old.
· Please follow these guidelines when answering a specific call for submission unless that specific call asks for something else.
· If you have any questions and depending on the genre of your submission, please

Simultaneous submissions
We no longer accept simultaneous submissions. Please do not send these in to us. This rule applies to, but is not limited to, submissions sent to other websites, publishers, or agents.
How to Submit an Application
· All submissions should be sent as an attached rich text file (.rtf) or MSWord file.
· Email the appropriate editor (either editor(at)ll-
· Submissions must have the following in the subject line:
NOVEL SUBMISSION – Title
SHORT STORY SUBMISSION – Title
· Or follow the instructions given in a specific call as required.
All submissions must be in the following format:
· 12pt Times New Roman or Arial font;
· 1.5 line spacing throughout with an extra space between paragraphs;
· 0.5 tab indent
· No special formatting, with the exception of italics, underline, or bold.
Your initial submission should include:
1. An author's bio of 150 words max, not counting web links. For anthologies, the complete bio of the person compiling the anthology.
2. A 3-
3. For novels and novellas, please send the first, second, and final chapters.
4. For collections and anthologies, please send an excerpt of approximately 500 words from five stories in the collection/anthology. If there are less than five stories in the collections, then send one excerpt from each story in the collection/anthology.
5. A statement of ownership (e.g. – “I declare that [TITLE] is my original work,
and I have complete ownership and authority to submit this work to LL-
6. The pen name (if used) of the author or compiler.
7. The actual name and address of the author or compiler (These are for our use only and kept solely on file).
8. A contact phone number for the author or compiler. (Again, this is for our use only.)
9. The email address of the author or compiler.
Please DO NOT send a complete manuscript unless we request it. Unsolicited complete manuscripts will be returned unread. If we do request a complete manuscript, it should be formatted in the same manner as stated above and sent as an MSWord file or rich text (.rtf) file.
Response Time

Initial Submission (sample chapters, bio, etc.):
After the receipt of your initial submission, please allow four weeks for us to review your submission and to reach a decision. If you have not heard from us in that time, please feel free to contact us for a status report.
Full Manuscript (when requested):
If a full manuscript is requested for review, please allow up to six weeks after receipt of the manuscript for a decision. If you have not heard from us in that time, please feel free to contact us for a status report.
Content Restrictions & Requirements
Submissions containing storylines glamorising events involving the following will
not be accepted: rape or any non-
These topics/issues may be in reference to crimes or mentioned as part of a character's
experiences, but they may not be glamorised or vividly described for the purpose
of titillation. Nevertheless, LL-
The editor’s decision will be final as to which submissions are acceptable. If in
