LL-Publications: Our submission guidelines for your assistance.

Submission Guidelines

All contributors MUST be at least 18 years old.

Whether you submit to LL-Publications or to any other publisher, it is strongly advised that you pay very close attention to the guidelines. Many submissions, even outstanding ones, are often immediately rejected by editors because they don�t meet the simplest of criteria for a submission. When in doubt�ask!

Querying first? You don�t have to query us before making a formal submission providing you follow the guidelines as described below.

Guidelines are set to ensure that we get exactly what we�re looking for. If your material doesn�t meet the basic guidelines then, no matter how good it is, it won�t be accepted because it�s not what we need.

Simultaneous submissions? If you have already submitted, are submitting, or plan to submit elsewhere the same work you are submitting to us, you MUST inform us at the formal submission stage. Evaluating a manuscript is time and effort consuming. Whilst our strong preference is not to handle simultaneous submissions, we reserve the right to consider any at our discretion.

Your Submission

Please see our sample cover/query letter to get you started. The information you provide in your cover letter is essential in helping us choose which manuscripts to pursue and can be what helps you get that publishing contract.

Your formal submission should contain:

� Your bio (150 words max. not counting web links)

� A synopsis of your novel (3-5 pages)

� First chapter

� Second chapter

� Final chapter

� Statement of ownership (e.g. � �I declare that [TITLE] is my original work and I have complete ownership and authority to submit this work to LL Publications.�)

Submissions should be sent as an attached rich text file (.rtf), or plain text file and must be formatted as follows:

� Times New Roman 10pt font

� double-spaced throughout

Please do NOT send as WORD files!

Please allow us a minimum of two weeks to review your submission and to reach a decision. If you have not heard from us after the initial two weeks, feel free to contact us for a status report.

If we request the rest of your manuscript to review, it must be formatted as stated above.

Submissions not following the above guidelines will not be considered.

You will receive a �confirmation of receipt email� usually within a day of your submission being received. If you receive no confirmation email, that means we have not received your email, for whatever technical reason that may be. Please try again, or email us at editor(at)ll-publications.com for information.

EDITING & ACCEPTANCE

Please edit your work before submitting to us even if it means obtaining third-party assistance. Unedited or poorly edited submissions will be dismissed without further consideration. If your submission is not chosen, you may request�without charge�general feedback from our editors about your submission.

NOTE: While editorial comments on unaccepted submissions are intended to help, they are not to be construed as being conditional to acceptance. LL-Publications must judge every submission on its own merits and communications outside of a contract shall not be entered into. This general feedback is a one-time offer for those who request it.

Editing after acceptance of submissions is considered part of the acceptance, and the editors reserve the right to edit content and length of any submission prior to publication. However, it is not an intention of ours to alter an individual�s writing or style. Editing would only be done if the editor felt it was in the author�s and/or the Publisher�s best interests. The editors reserve the right not to accept any submission.

In rare cases where no final edits can be agreed upon and/or either party wishes to withdraw/reject the submission, only the rights to the submission in its ORIGINAL form are returned to the author. This is because all edits done under contract by our editors are copyright of LL-Publications and the rights to those edits remain with us, and only the submission in its ORIGINAL form is the property of the author.

Authors can, however, accept all of the edits done by payment of a standard editing fee. No partial edits can be purchased.

RESTRICTIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Submissions containing story lines or factual events involving the following will not be accepted for their own sake: rape or any non-consensual sexual acts, under age (18) persons or minors, incest, bestiality, hate, racism or necrophilia. Storylines containing these issues should be presented as the crimes they are. Nevertheless, the Publisher and editor(s) reserve the right to reject submissions containing such material.

Submissions of romance, erotic romance, or erotica should be addressed to our imprint Logical-Lust.

Submissions of an explicit sexual nature must have clear indication or implication that consent exists. Consent after-the-fact is not acceptable. By nature some erotic works can push boundaries and certain aspects of non-consent can be carefully included but bear in mind that the editor�s decision will be final as to which submissions are acceptable.
